Public Health – Online Graduate Minor

Global awareness of public health issues is higher than at any other time in modern history. That presents a growing opportunity and need for skilled and educated professionals. By pursuing a graduate minor in public health online with Oregon State University, you can impact the health and well-being of populations and their environments.

This program is designed to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary learning experience. As a student in the public health graduate minor, you’ll be equipped with leadership skills and the social and behavior sciences background to address health challenges for all populations on a local and global scale.

Because multiple and complex factors affect the public’s health, you have the ability to examine environmental issues, access to health care services, health policies, and social and contextual factors as determinants of health.

This program is offered by Oregon State’s College of Public Health and Human Sciences, the first accredited school of public health in Oregon. The CPHHS takes on our greatest challenges to health, using science and community engagement to ensure health and well-being for individuals, families and communities in Oregon and beyond.

Coursework

Oregon State’s public health program is built on the foundation of biostatistics, environmental health sciences, epidemiology, global health, health promotion and health behavior, and health systems and policy.

You have the ability to design your own course of study in the public health graduate minor. No specific courses are required, meaning you will work with a faculty advisor from one of the CPHHS graduate programs to select your courses.

This program must be completed concurrently with a graduate degree. To fulfill the minor requirements, you must complete a minimum of 15 credits if you are a master’s student or 18 credits if you are a doctoral student.
