Religious studies addresses the academic study of religion with a focus on the comparative study of world religions and religious diversity as well as ethics, sexuality and violence. With an eye to complexity, you will graduate with an understanding of the impact different religious traditions have made in the world and continue to make in the realms of politics, aesthetics, social structure and culture.

Broaden your knowledge base

This interdisciplinary program exposes you to the foundational texts of world religions, critical scholarship and current theoretical debates. Our world-class faculty members specialize in Buddhist, Hindu and Chinese religions in addition to Islam, Christianity, Judaism and religion in the United States.
