AEC 122 – +introduction to Climate Change Economics and Policy (3)

Introduces students to the economic intuition surrounding the climate change conundrum by identifying the role of economic theory, institutions, and data to help society address and adapt to the multi-dimensional problem. Explores challenges in global climate policy cooperation, inter-generational and equity issues in economic damages from climate change, and uncertainties inherent in climate policy decisions. Analyzes strategies to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, including market-based solutions like carbon pricing, along with adaptation options related to sea-level rise, agriculture, forests and migration. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
