SW 214 – +Culturally Affirming and Nonviolent Communication (3)

Explores diverse communication forms including digital, broadcast, social media, and interpersonal contexts and how they shape power, discourse, and social change. Examines how media processes and communication patterns shape public discourse, reinforce or challenge social hierarchies, and influence individual and collective behaviors. Facilitates development of original speech products that are grounded in major communication theories. Empowers learners to create culturally affirming and nonviolent persuasive messages for real-world impact. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
