H 256 – +Silence Equals Death: Hiv Stigma to Global Social Movement (3)

Examines institutions, structures, and processes involved in the global response to the HIV and AIDS pandemic. Explores how stigma, discrimination, empowerment, solidarity, and community mobilization influenced behavior. Highlights how people living with HIV, their communities, and institutions co-created knowledge and solutions based in lived experience. Describes qualitative and quantitative social science approaches. Discusses community strength and vulnerability among global populations, including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC people, which inspired health social movements, social responsibility, accountability, and integrity among individuals. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
