FW 321 – Applied Community and Ecosystem Ecology (3)

Develops a strong understanding of the linkages between community and ecosystem ecology and applied management strategies. Expands upon theoretical concepts such as metapopulation theory and invasion biology, and relates them to real world management issues, such as reserve design. Explores how wildlife and fisheries populations fit into the broader ecology of the system for effective management of these species. Examines community and ecosystem theory and the management strategies and techniques borne from them to accurately and appropriately evaluate and conserve natural resources.
