FW 370 – Conservation Genetics (3)
Evaluates the effects of habitat loss, exploitation, and environmental change on the genetic composition of natural populations, and how these changes affect the viability of populations. Explores units that define populations to inform management decisions and maintain biological diversity among populations. Introduces the tools and techniques geneticists employ from population, quantitative and molecular genomics, as well as systematics and phylogenetics. Provides a foundation for the acquisition and interpretation of wildlife genetic data. Expands problem-solving and critical-thinking skills using genetic methodology. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
