WR 474 – +the Writing and Rhetoric of Critical Race Theory (4)

Examines the history and ideas of Critical Race Theory, with emphasis on how CRT responds to structural racism. Considers the form and function of structural racism in the US in education and the carceral system. Analyzes counterstory as a CRT writing genre and a method of scholarship. Engages students in the practice of writing counterstories. Provides students opportunities to analyze and write about their own identities and positions in relation to systems of oppression. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
