ED 540 – Embracing Opportunity: Adolescent Brain Development and Instruction (3)

Examines research from psychology, human development, and neuroscience to provide a holistic understanding of adolescents and learning the impact of these issues on the development of instruction. Investigates the influence of family, neighborhood, peer, and school contexts on brain development; identity formation; and the challenges and opportunities of adolescence. Discusses psychological and behavioral problems that may occur during adolescence including but not limited to substance abuse, crime, depression, and eating disorders. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
