I grew up on a farm in Belleview, a small town in central Florida. While attending Florida State University for my undergraduate degree, I became fascinated with advising after seeing the impact my advisor had on my experience in college. I started working in higher education in 2011, first in graduate admissions and later as an academic advisor. While advising online students, my role included course planning, registration and degree audits as well as veteran support resources and disability accommodations.

In 2017, I moved from Loyola Marymount University to the Ecampus student success team here at Oregon State. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity in this role to coach hundreds of students from around the country and internationally. My coaching philosophy draws upon the principles of positive psychology, growth mindset, character strengths and values, and mindful self-compassion. I am passionate about empowering students, highlighting areas of strength and development, and supporting each individual in building the life they want.

I graduated with my M.S. Ed. in 2019 from an online degree program. The experience of pursuing my own online graduate degree helped me grasp how difficult it is to balance being an online student with a full-time career, being a partner, mother and all of the other responsibilities of life. I have immense respect for all students learning in this capacity. I realize how hard you’re working!

Outside of work, my favorite things are hiking and camping with my family, practicing yoga, making macramé and gardening. More often than not, I’m sipping mulled wine and indulging in a marathon of “Outlander”!
