Unveiling OSU's new online programs

Ecampus delivers 38 degree and certificate programs online, as well as nearly 20 minors, and we're always adding to our catalog. In fact, we just did:

  • OSU's new graduate certificate online in urban forestryOur new engineering management master's program was developed by engineers for engineers and provides the in-depth knowledge students will need to take on leadership roles in an exciting industry.
  • A graduate certificate in urban forestry is the first of its kind in the nation and it gives forestry professionals an innovative, flexible way to advance their careers.
  • A graduate certificate in wildlife management enhances OSU's status as a worldwide leader on wildlife issues, and now you can do your part to help find solutions to global challenges.
  • And the Ecampus leadership minor delivers hands-on experiences that will equip you with the practical skills every employer is looking for.

Stay tuned for news on other new programs. We expect to announce quite a few more during this school year.

Virtual series on career guidance is underway

Career guidance webinars OSU Career Services and the OSU Alumni Association have partnered to provide a free career webinar series for students and alumni, enabling you to receive career counseling and job search expertise without leaving your home or office.

The monthly webinar series is full of valuable career topics, and a recording of the first session – "The Mechanics of Job Search and Getting Your Next Job Fast" – is now available online.

All career webinars in the series are recorded so you can watch them on demand. Check the schedule for upcoming events.

It's official – OSU is the best in the state

Best Online College in Oregon 2014Ecampus has long been considered one of the nation's best providers of online education, but we felt particularly honored last month when we were named the best online college in Oregon.

The distinction was based on academic excellence, faculty strength, online teaching methods, awards, the number of programs offered and other criteria.

"What really distinguishes Ecampus from other online universities is our focus on engaging, quality courses," said Ecampus executive director Lisa L. Templeton.

Doing research from a distance

OSU Libraries reserach from a distanceYou're far from campus and need to do a research paper or find a book or an article. How do you do it? Visit the OSU Libraries, of course.

Just because you can't come to campus doesn't mean you can't do research. The library has many online resources to help you complete assignments successfully.

Did you know there is an Ecampus librarian? Stefanie Buck is available to answer your questions and get you going on your research. Start early by attending one of her webinars. The Introduction to the Library webinar will be held Oct. 8 and 15.

You don't need any special equipment, just your computer and some headphones or speakers. The webinars are recorded so you can listen to them later, too. Check the schedule for other helpful webinars in the series.

Other services the library provides include mailing books to your home and interlibrary loan services for materials the OSU Libraries do not own. If you need it, we can get it for you so don't be shy about asking.
