In our increasingly interconnected world, building cross-cultural skills is an important part of almost every career and discipline. Learn how to effectively think about global issues and broaden your intercultural competence by earning an Undergraduate Certificate in Global Learning online with Oregon State University.
This certificate is designed to give you a greater understanding of global cultures, economies, political systems and international relations. Upon completion, you’ll be able to skillfully interact and communicate across cultures and demonstrate an active awareness of your own identity as it relates to others.
Coursework
This 27-credit program is offered through the School of Language, Culture and Society and is a mix of coursework, study abroad and/or language learning. Please note that your intercultural experience, including demonstrating language proficiency, does not count toward your 27 credits of study.

Additional program features
To complete the global learning certificate, you will participate in an intercultural experience. Studying abroad is one of the many ways you can fulfill this requirement. See the OSU Global Opportunities website for examples that count toward the certificate. Once you are admitted, you can also work with your academic advisor about designing a personalized intercultural experience that fits your goals and schedule.
You can also meet this requirement by demonstrating language proficiency through a placement test, transfer credit or by completing the second year of a language at Oregon State or another accredited institution.
