Program details

Oregon State’s sports business bachelor’s program provides a unique, comprehensive curriculum that encompasses marketing, sponsorship, analytics, and finance. This means your online coursework will teach you — among other skills — how to make data-driven decisions, manage financial resources and optimize performance metrics, sponsorships and revenue generation.

The online sports business degree program is offered by Oregon State’s College of Business.

Degree requirements

A minimum of 180 quarter credits — at least 36 of which must be upper-division credits — are required to graduate with your sports business degree, including:

  • OSU’s Core Education
  • Major requirements: Sports business (Curriculum details and program information will soon be available on Oregon State’s academic catalog in summer 2025.)

This program is currently accepting applications, and you may begin the program online as early as summer term 2025.

Additional program features

When you pursue a sports business bachelor's degree online, you’ll work with your academic advisor to create a customized education plan, based on one of the following focus areas.

This program includes a 2-credit experiential learning component that gives you the option of selecting an internship, practicum, project, thesis or industry conference. This learning opportunity will provide you with hands-on experience in the industry.

Some degree requirements may be transferred from other institutions. Please note that a minimum of 45 credits of the last 75 credits in this degree program must be completed at Oregon State (online or on campus) to meet the academic residency requirement.

Previously earned credits must be reviewed upon admittance to OSU for appropriate articulation. Additional information about transferring credits is available through OSU’s Transfer Credit Central or you may request an unofficial transcript evaluation through the College of Business.
