B.S. in Teaching – Online

Make your mark — become a teacher

Impact the lives of children by becoming a licensed elementary teacher through Oregon State University’s Teaching B.S. in Clinically Based Elementary Education. This hybrid program, delivered in collaboration with OSU-Cascades and the College of Education, blends online and in-person coursework that offers exceptional mentoring while you teach alongside experienced, senior teachers from partner school districts in Oregon.

This program is modeled after the Grow Your Own effort to help communities develop impactful teachers who reflect their communities. The program was designed to serve BIPOC and bilingual candidates and those with life, family and professional experiences outside of the classroom. The goal of the program structure is to maximize time in high-quality clinical experiences in ways that prepare teacher candidates to be effective instructors and educational leaders.

This program begins one per year in summer term. You can complete this full-time professional program in two years. During that time, you’ll be immersed in the classroom, gaining hands-on teaching experience from day one while actively learning online with a cohort of like-minded peers.

Courses are delivered online and in a hybrid format, with in-person coursework taking place three to four times per term on weekends. Meeting sites will be determined by the locations of cohort members. Accommodations may be made depending on your location.
