A collaboration between Oregon State University and the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police provides educational benefits to eligible employees of OACP member police organizations, their spouses and dependents. This partnership gives you greater access to learning opportunities to help advance your career and life.

Your benefit applies to programs offered at all three Oregon State locations:

  1. Online (Ecampus)
  2. Corvallis (Main Campus)
  3. OSU-Cascades (Bend)

10% tuition benefit

Receive a 10% tuition scholarship when you enroll in any Oregon State course or degree program delivered online, on campus in Corvallis or at OSU-Cascades. Your spouse and dependents are also eligible for this benefit. This benefit is for new students only.

How do I get started?

  1. Select your program of interest.
  2. Apply to Oregon State University to learn online, on campus in Corvallis or at OSU-Cascades. We recommend applying at least nine weeks before your first term starts.
  3. Once you’re admitted, submit a FAFSA and any additional documentation required to determine your financial aid eligibility.
  4. Oregon State will contact you to request a copy of a recent paystub to verify your eligibility.
  5. Your tuition scholarship will be applied to your account during week four of each academic term.

Frequently asked questions

Am I eligible for this benefit?

If you are employed by a police department that is a member of the OACP, you, your spouse and your dependents are eligible for this benefit. This benefit can be used concurrently among eligible employees and their spouse and dependents.

Can I combine this benefit with other university aid?

You cannot combine the 10% OACP tuition scholarship with any other scholarships or grants provided by OSU, e.g., institutional aid, however, the tuition scholarship can be combined with non-OSU aid or scholarships, including OSU Foundation Scholarships.

Are there additional benefits available to me beyond the 10% tuition scholarship offered by Oregon State?

Additional tuition benefits vary by department. We encourage you to check with your employer to learn more about your department’s specific tuition benefit offerings.

This benefit is extended to new students only.

Oregon State University students who are currently enrolled or who have been enrolled in the past are not eligible to receive the benefit.

Where can I enroll with this benefit?

You can enroll online, on campus in Corvallis or at OSU-Cascades in Bend.

When can I start?

Oregon State is on a quarter-based academic calendar, which means classes are delivered online and on campus in the fall, winter, spring and summer terms. Most bachelor’s programs start each quarter. Graduate programs and microcredentials have variable start dates.

When can I apply this scholarship to my coursework?

The scholarship is effective for enrollment in future terms and cannot be applied retroactively.

When will the scholarship be applied?

The scholarship will be applied to your student account during week four of each academic term.

Will my credits transfer?

Oregon State accepts credits from other colleges and universities that are institutionally accredited. Upon admission, you’ll receive an official transcript evaluation to determine which of your previous credits transfer.
