Exams and Proctoring

Overview

Woman Taking TestSome of your distance courses require you to take proctored exams. Your instructor will indicate this requirement via the course syllabus, a Blackboard announcement or an email. Not all of your courses may require proctored exams.

Proctor coordination

Check your course's syllabus on Blackboard to see if a proctor is required for your test.  Viewing the Exams and Proctoring Flash Tutorial may also be helpful to you.  When you're ready to schedule, follow these steps:

1. Login to the Exams and Proctoring Form and follow the steps to finding and signing up for a proctor.

  • We have found that the proctoring application works best when using Firefox or Internet Explorer. You can use the Check Your Computer technical check to find out what versions you have available on the PC you are using.
  • Review and edit your contact information
  • Enter courses for which you will need proctoring
  • Select and schedule proctors

2. On the day of your exam bring the following items:

  • A form of photo identification
  • Items allowed by your instructor for the exam (i.e., calculator, book, notes, etc.)

3. Cell phones, laptops, and/or PDAs are not allowed in the testing area.

4. When you complete your exam, it will be sent to your instructor for grading.

If you have problems, please email Ecampus Testing or call during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5p.m. PST): 800-667-1465 or 541-737-9204.

If you need to take an exam concerning an incomplete from a prior term, contact Ecampus Testing.

Types of Proctors

Oregon Testing Centers: If you are near one of these centers you can select them to be your proctor. Be sure to contact them ahead of time to make an appointment before submitting them as your proctor.

Corvallis Campus Proctoring: Seating is limited for on-campus proctoring and there are limited testing dates and times. You still need to reserve a space for on-campus proctoring. The schedule can change at any time and it is your responsibility to monitor the schedule.

Your Own Proctor:  Finding an Acceptable Proctor is your responsibility if you are not near one of the Oregon Testing Centers or on-campus for Corvallis Campus Proctoring.

To select and submit your proctor choice, login to the Exams and Proctoring Form.
