Amber Lane - Unbelievable Feeling

B.S. Liberal Studies
Junction City, OR

Amber Lane

What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
Earning my bachelor degree has been a 10-year process and it's an unbelievable feeling to know that I have finally done it! To have my five-year-old daughter be able to see her mom up there on that stage graduating, is priceless to me and hopefully, inspirational to her for years to come. This degree means a better chance, and a better life for the two of us. Law school here I come!

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
I chose OSU's Extended Campus program for two reasons: First, because I had attended OSU at the beginning of my college career and had enjoyed my experience at their Cascades Campus in Bend. Second, because I had to work full time to support myself and my daughter, Ecampus offered me the flexibility to get it done! Though it's hard sometimes to fit it all in, it's been an amazing experience and one I would recommend to anyone!

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?

I had a number of good instructors in Women's Studies and Philosophy. But most of all, I appreciated the help of Cindy Lehto in Student Services at OSU Ecampus. She was understanding and helpful when I ran into a problem with my advisor.
