What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
Completing my degree means completing a part of my life that I had put on a back burner for far too long. Completing my degree also represents a prioritization of my own goals, hopes and dreams. Further, I feel that my bachelor's degree empowers me and reminds me that I can contribute even more to my family, work and community. OSU's quality online education has made the completion of my degree possible.

Completing my degree has renewed my dedication to the learning process and has lifted my self-efficacy, which are valuable attributes for many areas of life. I feel that I am able to fulfill quality work in shorter spans of time. Further, I feel more assured and precise with the works and efforts that I present in both my professional and personal life.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
Initially, my relationship and work steered me away from completing my degree on campus. Thus, when I found out that OSU had a reputable online degree program, I was excited that I finally had an opportunity to complete my degree. Online education offered me location and schedule flexibility while progressing in other areas in my life. In addition, I chose to complete my degree online via OSU because my credits could transfer easily from another in-state school. Not to mention, I am a self-motivated person who feels very comfortable with the demands of the online learning experience.

I liked the flexible hours and the in-depth learning that occurred with other students and teachers on discussion board. Further, I feel that the online environment naturally increases reading comprehension and writing skills because it demands learning through careful reading, understanding and communication of the written language. Also, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the extra time that was available from not spending time traveling to and from a university campus. Thus, I had even more time for my educational and personal obligations.

Overall, I feel that online education is not only an opportunity for people who cannot attend on-campus courses, but also serves as an opportunity for any student of any age or stage in life to engage in increasing self-motivational and technological skills required in today's world.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?

I especially thank the following teachers and my degree advisor: David Del Mar, Shelley Dubkin-Lee, Paul Kopperman, Janet Lockhart, Wallace Sanborn and Polly Jeneva.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
I am now eligible for a wider variety of job opportunities. Also, I am able to receive jobs with higher pay and benefits. I have new-found knowledge and skills that make me an even better candidate for working in a variety of creative, writing and teaching occupations. Further, my online communication skills have increased and I have learned an array of writing skills that are proving as an asset in both work and personal arenas.

I am glad that I can now say I am a college graduate from OSU and that my degree can serve as a gateway to new opportunities for myself and for my loved ones. My degree makes me feel more relaxed about making steps in my personal relationship and even about having a family of my own. Thus, I feel more prepared to progress in my professional and personal life. I also feel glad that I have had the opportunity to complete my degree online in order to support and encourage others that too may be perfect candidates for excelling in the completion of a college degree online. The completion of my college degree online serves as a strong reminder that educational learning goals are now possible for people of varying stages, ages and walks of life.
