What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
Completing my degrees means that I have finally accomplished the one true goal that I set for myself when I graduated from high school in 2000. I joined the military and served eight years. I took my first college class in 2001 and I told myself that no matter what it took, I was going to get my bachelor's degree. Here I am eight years later, and I can tell myself that I did it. I am also able to encourage others to continue and let them know that it will get better, just don't quit.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
My schedule was so crazy and I knew I wanted to finish my degree, so I went and looked at traditional campuses and also online campuses. OSU Ecampus offered such a variety of classes, it made me want to look further into the programs that they offered. I saw a degree that fit my interest, so I applied.

The best thing about Ecampus was that I was still able to go to school full time and also maintain my personal life without having to move again.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
My advisor Louie Bottaro was amazing. Any question I had for him, he had an answer. Louie helped me pick my classes and made sure I was on track to graduate. It was as if I knew him my whole college career.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
With this degree, not only with it build the foundation for the rest of my life, it will allow me to seek better employment. This degree matched with my skills from the military and allows me to be a better competitor in the job search process.

I also plan to apply to graduate school. Ultimately this degree allows me to serve as a role model to my community and show everyone that education is important, no matter how old you are when you start or finish.
