“A lot of people can be intimidated by research, but I think it’s fun to frame questions, design investigations and gather data to find answers. It’s like the ‘geekier’ version of being a detective,” says Ecampus Research Unit Director Katie linder.
Most college and university students who use closed captions and transcripts on video and multimedia find them helpful as a learning tool, despite them not regularly being made available, according to new research from Oregon State University.
“Research in Action” – or “RIA” – features interviews with experts across a range of disciplines who share their expertise on qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods.
Oregon State University is advancing its commitment to online education with a new research unit that aims to meet university and national needs related to online teaching and learning. The OSU Ecampus Research Unit is designed to create an accessible and inclusive online learning environment for Oregon State students and others. Last month the research unit received its first national grant and named eight OSU faculty members as its inaugural research fellows.
