2,345 OSU Ecampus students to be honored in commencement ceremony after earning degrees online in 49 states and beyond
The Oregon State University graduating Class of 2025 features a record number of students who completed their degrees online — 2,345 students, to be exact.
They learned online through Oregon State Ecampus, and true to OSU’s ability to meet the needs of learners around the world, they hail from many points on the map.
From Oregon (obviously) to Florida, and from California to Maine and everywhere in between. Well, everywhere except Rhode Island.
And they represent 20 countries beyond the United States. Oregon State students living in places as far-flung as Spain, Thailand, Colombia, Australia and France will be honored Saturday, June 14, in a commencement ceremony on OSU’s Corvallis campus.
Many online learners are traveling to Corvallis from as far away as Japan to participate in the ceremony. As unique as each student’s experience has been, they now all share a comment trait:
They are graduates of Oregon State University.
“Each Ecampus graduate has a powerful story of perseverance, and together they represent the best of Oregon State’s mission to serve learners everywhere,” said Lisa L. Templeton, the vice provost for OSU’s Division of Educational Ventures. “Graduation is a powerful reminder of why we do this work. We celebrate their academic success and how they’re using education to create change in their lives, their families and their communities.”
The Oregon State University Class of 2025 features a record 8,011 students in all, and Ecampus graduates make up 29% of that figure.
