Admission requirements
Detailed admissions information is available on Oregon State’s School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science website. You’ll need to provide information in the following areas for admission. Please note important admissions information including:
- Application fee
- Academic history
- Previous degree and course GPA
- Recommendation letter(s)
- Résumé
- TOEFL/IELTS scores, if applicable
Application considerations
Applications to the M.Eng. program will be reviewed against program admissions criteria that include your prior academic record, relevant professional experience and written statements.
Applications to the M.S. program will be reviewed against the same criteria, with additional consideration of matching you with a faculty advisor for the thesis or project options. As such, admissions to the M.S. program will generally be more selective.
How to apply
Apply to the OSU Graduate School
- Apply as a degree-seeking student through the OSU Graduate School’s online application form. The nonrefundable application fee is $75.
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
NOTE: Although the Graduate School application is submitted electronically online — and all of the documentation (scores, transcripts, etc.) can be uploaded online as attachments — you may choose to send your documentation by physical mail. Accompanying materials can be mailed to the Graduate School (Heckart Lodge, 2900 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis, OR, 97331).
You DO NOT have to mail AND submit your documents online.

Application deadlines
M.Eng. deadline
You can apply to the M.Eng. in Computer Science program and begin your studies in any of the four academic quarters. Refer to the EECS website for specific application deadlines.
M.S. deadline
The M.S. in Computer Science program admits new students each fall. The application deadline for a fall start is the previous December. Refer to the EECS website for specific application deadlines.
