When to apply
This program recommends having a complete application, including all supporting materials, on file no later than eight weeks prior to the start of an academic term.
Students are accepted four times a year (fall, winter, spring and summer). Visit the academic calendar for information on term length.
How to apply
Apply as a degree-seeking student through the OSU Graduate School’s online application form. The nonrefundable application fee is $85.
Application materials
1. Letters of reference: Provide the names and email addresses of two individuals who will supply professional letters of reference on your behalf, or provide one letter of support from your employer.
These individuals will be contacted directly by OSU’s College of Engineering with instructions for submitting their reference letters electronically.
2. Undergraduate transcripts: For application purposes, you can submit unofficial transcripts from all institutions you previously attended. If you are accepted into the program, official transcripts are required.
Where to send application materials
You may submit the OSU Graduate School application online electronically, uploading all documentation (scores, transcripts, etc.) as attachments. Or you may choose to mail your documentation and all materials to the Graduate School at Heckart Lodge, 2900 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis, OR, 97331.
Apply to take courses as a nondegree-seeking student
If you don’t want to apply to the OSU Graduate School but would like to take individual classes that are part of the Master of Engineering curriculum, you may apply to OSU as a nondegree-seeking graduate student.
Nondegree-seeking students who may later wish to apply to a graduate degree program should be aware that a maximum of 22 credits earned as a nondegree-seeking student may be transferred to a graduate degree program. As credits earned while enrolled as a nondegree graduate student will not necessarily apply to a graduate program, we recommend confirming with the Graduate School and the program director that credits you wish to transfer meet transfer credit requirements.
For additional details, please refer to the “Nondegree Status” section of admission to Oregon State University.
