The world has become a more welcoming place for neurodivergent individuals — but there is work to be done, and knowledge to be gained. That’s where you come in. Learn to approach neurodiversity with a focus on empowerment and inclusion while acquiring skills that can make an impact when you earn a microcredential in autism and neurodiversity online from Oregon State University.

Gain insight into human lifespan development, neurodiverse-affirming practices, and evidence-based interventions. Explore the psychological aspects of disability through online coursework covering social and developmental factors, neurodevelopmental disorders, and disability justice principles. You’ll become equipped to create environments that promote fulfilling, interdependent lives for people of all neurotypes and with a range of support needs.

Some courses within Oregon State's online microcredential offerings may require you to complete prerequisites in order to enroll. Before applying, it's important to understand the timing and schedule for when microcredential courses are offered, including any prerequisite courses.

Note: To satisfy the above prerequisites, Oregon State's College of Liberal Arts recommends that you complete the human lifespan development microcredential before enrolling in the autism and neurodiversity microcredential.

Once you complete a microcredential in autism and neurodiversity, you can apply the 12 credits you earn directly toward Oregon State’s online bachelor’s degree in psychology.

If you plan to apply these credits toward a full degree, we encourage you to first contact the program to learn about the degree requirements. Please note that acceptance into a microcredential does not guarantee acceptance into a degree program.
