How to use your digital badge
When you complete a microcredential through Oregon State, you’ll receive a digital badge — a verified, shareable credential that represents the skills you gained. This badge is more than a graphic symbol; it’s a powerful way to show your qualifications to employers, colleagues and your professional network.
How to claim your badge
You’ll receive an email from Credly within three weeks of completing your microcredential. That message will include a link to claim your badge. If you don’t receive the email, check your spam folder or contact the Office of the Registrar at registrars@oregonstate.edu.
To claim your badge, create a free account on Credly and follow the instructions to accept your badge. You’re then ready to share it with your network.

Where and how to display your badge
Your badge can be shared in a variety of professional settings.
Places to share your badge:
- ZipRecruiter (via Credly integration)
- Personal websites or portfolios
- Email signatures
- Résumés or CVs
Résumé tips:
- List your badge under headings such as Education or Certifications.
- Include a short summary of your microcredential and the skills you gained.
- Highlight projects you completed or tools you used.
LinkedIn tips:
- Add your badge as a credential and tag Oregon State University.
- Include skills from your badge in your profile’s skills section.
- Post about your accomplishment to drive engagement.

Use Credly’s Labor Market Insights Tool
Credly’s built-in career insights help you explore real-time job data linked to your badge. These insights can guide your job search, help you tailor your résumé or support a conversation with your current employer.
When you click on your badge in Credly, you can see job titles related to your new skills and learn about salary trends in your industry.

Add blockchain verification to your badge
You can add an extra layer of credibility to your digital badge by publishing it to the blockchain — a secure, tamper-proof system that permanently verifies your achievement. This optional feature is available to all Oregon State microcredential badge earners.
Once published, your badge includes a “Verify” tab, allowing employers, schools and others to confirm its authenticity in real time.
How to publish your badge to the blockchain:
- Open your badge on Credly.
- Click “Share”, then choose the “Blockchain” tab.
- Click “Publish”
Note: Once published, your badge is permanently recorded on the blockchain. You can’t delete it, but you can choose to make it private.
How to explain the value of your microcredential

Sample description:
