2010 Ecampus Graduates
Michaela Johnson
B.A. Liberal Studies
Sandy, Oregon
What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career? Completing my degree has been a lifetime goal. After having my son, I realized how important it was for me to go back to school to finish. Not only do I want to instill in him the importance of education, I also want to lead by example. Having my degree will allow me to provide a financially stable life for my son, and give us both the ability to take advantage of great opportunities.
Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education? I chose Extended Campus because I was able to be a full time student while being a full time mom. The flexibility of the schedule allowed me to finish my degree without sacrificing precious time with my little one.
Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student? Kathy Fultz helped me from the beginning of trying to get back into school. She spent a lot of time responding to my questions and outlining my requirements. I greatly appreciate all her help.
What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before? My Ecampus degree will allow me to get a variety of jobs that require a bachelor's degree.
