What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
Completing my degree will give me the ultimate feeling of accomplishment. I started my college education right out of high school while working full-time. To be at the point where all of the hard work has paid off is one of the most rewarding feelings of my life, and I will continue to be rewarded by a happier lifestyle that I will be able to attain from earning my degree.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
My dream has always been to get my bachelor's from Oregon State. I was set to attend school in winter of 2006 when I got a job in Northern California. At the time, I thought that I would have to postpone my education. In 2008, I learned that I could attend Oregon State online and earn a degree in agriculture. I jumped at the opportunity. This was the perfect solution for my situation.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
All of my instructors played a huge role in my success. They all were very helpful and understanding of my situation. If I was going to be at a work event during a time when an exam was scheduled, they would all let me take the exam early. If it was not for the understanding of the professors, I would not have been able to achieve my goals.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
It will allow me to get a more meaningful career in an industry that I love. I have always known that I want to be in the agriculture industry, but I also know that making a prosperous living in this industry can be a challenge. This degree opens so many options for me and will be a huge tool in my ability to do what I love.
