B.S. Natural Resources
Chaska, Minn.

What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
Completing my degree is a great personal achievement because I have worked hard and sacrificed many things in my personal life to be able to finish. In addition, it is important to me because I am the first person in my family to attain a bachelor's degree.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
I chose OSU because I have a varied work schedule and need to continue to work to support myself and family. I enjoyed this delivery method because it allowed me to continue to work but also complete my education. In the past I have taken college courses in a traditional classroom setting, and I feel like the online format actually provided more opportunities for individual interaction and attention.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
The instructor who most inspired me and pushed my education to the next level is Mr. Bob Ehrhart. His courses really intrigued me and made me more interested in the study of range management. Also, his classes had a strong focus on writing skills, which helped to improve my writing.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
I believe earning my degree will open many more employment opportunities. Hopefully my degree will help me to gain employment in the natural resources field.
