Jeffrey Tuma – Another degree added on endless quest for education
B.S. in Economics
Gig Harbor, Wash.
What does earning your OSU degree mean to you?
This additional degree is an achievement that I am proud of. I think I have taken the concept of a well-rounded education to the extreme, but I feel I am a much better person having done so.
Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
I chose Ecampus for three reasons: convenience, structured outline to accomplish my goals and familiarity with OSU.
Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
I have had numerous advisors in my time on campus and though Ecampus. I do have to say though, working with Mary Chuinard and Laura Relyea has been a pleasure. Both treated me with respect and professionalism. I don’t think I would have attempted this degree if they had not been so welcoming and understanding.
What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
With my diversified education to date, adding a more in-depth knowledge of economics will help me with my career pursuits. I feel that I have a firm understanding of business and engineering and their roles within a company. I think that the knowledge gained from this degree will help more solidify how I plan to manage a company that has multiple facilities, international in scope, with the current economic conditions. I am a firm believer in continuing education and I think that this opportunity is in alignment with my goals and career aspirations.
