When you earn a microcredential in trauma-informed family practices online from Oregon State University, you’re prepared to deliver trauma-informed care to people who have experienced childhood neglect, intimate partner abuse or elder abuse.

Note: You can enroll in HDFS 463 beginning in winter term 2026 and HDFS 462 beginning in spring term 2026.

College of Health recommendation

The trauma-informed family practice microcredential is designed by Oregon State’s College of Health to be taken after completing the introduction to human services microcredential or the human lifespan development microcredential. Doing so will help you be prepared for the subject matter in the advanced trauma-informed family practice coursework.

Start working toward a degree in human development and family sciences

Once you complete a microcredential in trauma-informed family practices, you can apply the 8 credits you earned in HDFS 444 and HDFS 462 directly toward Oregon State’s online bachelor’s degree in human development and family sciences.
