MUS 104 – Survey of Jazz (3)

Study of jazz as a technical framework and values system for performing, composing and, experiencing music. Survey the history of jazz music up to the present to learn how this music works—from its technical musical elements to the culture that gave birth to and influenced its development. Actively listen, critique and discuss jazz, identify major artists and styles, and understand the cultural forces that shaped its development over time. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
