ENG 108 – Introduction to Science Fiction and Fantasy (3)

Focuses on modern and contemporary examples of science fiction and fantasy with some attention paid to the roots of the genres (myths, folklore, and fairy tales). Hypothesizes that both genres reflect the anxieties and aspirations of the eras that produce and consume them. Introduces students to a range of modern classics, including contemporary science fiction and fantasy written by women and people of color. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
