Online General Chemistry - Labs

Options for completing the laboratory requirement for your General Chemistry sequence

The two online General Chemistry sequences have different lab delivery methods.

General Chemistry - 121, 122, 123

This General Chemistry sequence's required lab component is included within the instruction for each course and is delivered by online chemistry laboratory service onlinechemlabs.com. All of the lab requirements for this sequence are completed entirely online and does not require an OSU campus visit. General Chemistry - 231, 232, 233

The lab components of General Chemistry 231, 232 and 233 are CH 261, 262 and 263. The lab courses are one-credit hybrid online/on-site courses that require hands-on, on-campus lab experience available in an intensive weekend delivery format on the OSU campus in Corvallis, OR. See chart below for more detail.

Online Lecture Course Lab Course Notes
CH 231 CH 261 CH 261 can be taken simultaneously or following CH 231.
CH 232 CH 262 CH 231 is prerequisite for CH 232. CH 262 can be taken simultaneously or following CH 232.
CH 233 CH 263 CH 232 is prerequisite for CH 233. CH 263 can be taken simultaneously or following CH 233.

Online lecture courses CH 231, 232 and 233 must be taken in order, and their corresponding lab courses may be taken at the same time or following completion of the lecture. Note: Because the lab courses CH 261, 262 and 263 are OSU on-campus courses, they follow the OSU Corvallis Campus tuition model. Visit OSU Corvallis Campus Tuition Information for more info.

The CH 231, 232, 233 online lecture sequence combined with the CH 261, 262, 263 hybrid lab sequence is equivalent to OSU's on-site campus CH 221, 222, 223 General Chemistry sequence and satisfy OSU's undergraduate bacc core requirements.
