Computer science postbaccalaureate program relaunch

Effective summer term 2026, Oregon State’s online computer science postbaccalaureate program, also referred to as the B.S. in Computer Science, will be relaunched as the B.S. in Computer Science – Applied.

Why the change? As part of its normal review process, OSU’s College of Engineering determined that the current online computer science postbacc program should be established as a major that is distinct from the traditional four-year bachelor’s in computer science. This includes giving the postbacc program a new name, and it reflects the differences in the student experiences between the two CS programs.

If you’re admitted to this program and start classes prior to summer 2026, you’ll be admitted to the current B.S. in Computer Science program. If your start term is summer 2026 or later, you’ll be admitted to the new B.S. in Computer Science – Applied program. For more info, please contact OSU Ecampus enrollment services.
