William Bradford

William Bradford was among one of the 39 Ecampus students who traveled the distance to attend OSU's commencement ceremony. Traveling from his home in Cambridge, MA, Bradford covered the most miles to be at this ceremony.

William is the perfect representation of how online classes and distance education are realistic solutions to potential students who wonder how they can fulfill their dream of earning their degree while dealing with life's daily challenges. He received his B.S. in Liberal Studies through Ecampus after a long and trying road, that at one point he thought he wouldn't live to see.

In 2005 Bradford was in a serious accident which required 32 surgeries and years of painful recovery. For him, it seemed as though an online education was his only answer to finally receiving the degree he started nearly 20 years earlier.

"Ecampus is a great way to gain access to an education that may be physically and geographically impossible," Bradford said. "In addition, the psychological benefit of taking classes was enormous. It allowed me to focus on something other than my own pain and recovery".

Now that Bradford has finally earned the degree that he has been working on for so many years, he will be continuing his education in pursuit of his Master of Divinity at Harvard University. As for how OSU Ecampus helped this student achieve his goals, Bradford says "I would not have gotten into Harvard without Ecampus."
