Kimberlee Harrison – Making the most of her educational 'me' time

What does earning your OSU degree mean to you?
Earning my B.A. in Anthropology from OSU is an important step in my career. I put my education on hold to raise my son, and now that he's grown, I am moving on with it. I plan on obtaining a second B.A. in Sociology at OSU next year while I wait to hear from graduate schools.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
OSU was one of the only colleges that offered an online degree in the field I'm interested in, which is anthropology. I enjoy this method of education because I am able to work to support myself while I go to school.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
My advisor, Brenda Kellar, was extremely helpful during my time here. There are several instructors who I really enjoyed taking classes with and who were very supportive: Dr. Mary Nolan, Dr. Madronna Holden, Dr. Rebecca Brown, and Dr. Kristin Barker.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
I will be able to go on to graduate school to obtain my M.A., and, ultimately, my Ph.D. in Forensic Anthropology, and will be able to get a job in a field that I love.
