Mellissia Zanjani – Doctoral status to go with presidential aspirations

Ph.D. in Education (Community College Leadership)
Burlington, N.J.

Mellissia ZanjaniWhat does earning your OSU degree mean to you?
As a first-generation college student, it means much to me and to my family. It is exciting to have reached the terminal degree status and provides the opportunity for my daughters and other family members to seek to achieve this pinnacle as well. So, it is not only meaningful to me – it is also meaningful to my family.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
The program was structured this way and it was fortunate for me, as I relocated from within a five-hour drive time to the other side of the country.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
Dr. Darlene Russ-Eft was a phenomenal mentor and instructor. She provided an excellent balance of support and guidance.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
Pursue a presidential position in a community college setting or a vice presidential position in a university or a tenured faculty member in a university.
