Mike O'Brien – Soaking up the education, whenever and wherever

Ed.M. in Organization and Human Resource Education
West Linn, Ore.

What does earning your OSU degree mean to you?
It means I am continuing to learn new things and develop new skills which give me the ability to create and capitalize on new opportunities.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Ecampus? What did you enjoy about this method of education?
The logistics worked with my travel schedule. I am able to attend classes on Friday afternoons and Saturdays and then use the online platform during the week. I enjoyed the cohort model and believe the value of building a network of trusted colleagues is enhanced through the face-to-face class time.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
George Reese did a great job in the Instructional Design course and taught me how to design courses and also how to teach a topic to variety of learners who have different interests and levels of ability and experience. George is an exceptional teacher.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
My degree gives me credibility to attract new clients and also gives me the ability to design courses as the need arises.
