Oregon State's Accelerated Master’s Platform (AMP) provides online computer science students — enrolled in either the B.S. in Computer Science (postbaccaluareate) program or the B.S. in Computer Science – Applied (postbaccaluareate) program — a streamlined path to a master’s degree in computer science.

Through AMP, you can take graduate-level courses and get a jump-start on your master’s while working toward your bachelor’s — and apply the credits to both degrees. This will save you time while building the advanced skills you need for the next stage of your career.

• Save time: Start graduate coursework during your undergraduate computer science program and complete your master’s degree sooner, often in as little as one additional year.
• Maximize your credits: Apply up to 22 credits of graduate CS coursework toward both your undergraduate and graduate degrees, saving even more time and money.
• Build career-ready skills: You'll take up to 22 credits of 500-level and 600-level coursework online, gaining the skills that employers need and that will help you maximize your career.
• Streamline your transition: Once admitted to AMP, you move directly into your computer science master’s program after finishing your bachelor’s degree.

If you’re considering applying or have recently been admitted to the B.S. in Computer Science – Applied program, and you are interested in the AMP pathway, contact a School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science advisor to learn more.

If you’re a newly enrolled or current student in the B.S. in Computer Science (postbaccalaureate) program or the B.S. in Computer Science – Applied program, take these actions:

1. Complete 24 credits toward the 60 credits required for your postbaccalaureate B.S. in Computer Science or postbaccalaureate B.S. in Computer Science – Applied.

2. Have a minimum 3.25 GPA for completed OSU undergraduate coursework. Transfer GPA will not be considered.

3. If you plan to complete the M.S. in Computer Science degree, obtain prior approval from a research professor. They’ll need to sign a faculty advisor agreement. Prior approval is not required if you plan to complete the MEng in Computer Science degree.

4. Schedule an appointment with your degree program’s AMP advisor to ensure you’re ready for AMP admission and plan courses. See below for AMP advisor contacts.

5. Your AMP advisor will notify Oregon State's Office of Graduate Admissions of your eligibility.

6. Graduate Admissions will email and ask you to approve the addition of the “AMP” notation on your academic record. Respond within 48 hours to approve, which confirms your admission to AMP.

7. In your final term before completing your bachelor's degree, contact your advisor to receive the application for admission to the graduate program you plan to start in the subsequent term.

8. If you are an international student, you will need a proper visa/I-20 once your graduate program starts.
