Alexa Marroquin-Garcia

My name is Alexa Marroquin-Garcia , and I am excited to join the Ecampus Student Advisory Board. As an Ecampus student, I have experienced the challenges and advantages of online learning. I am passionate about building community and collaborating with different voices to create meaningful impact. As part of enriching my time at Oregon State, I joined the SAB to contribute to the ongoing efforts to make online learning more accessible and friendly to people in all stages of life.
I am majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in psychology. As a math and science enthusiast, I find balance through my creative hobbies such as playing guitar and piano, painting and baking! I love picking up new hobbies and pushing through the challenges of being a beginner at something.
After OSU, I plan to work in bio research and pursue a master’s or Ph.D. in biochemistry research. As a Hispanic woman, pursuing a STEM education and career path is not only my calling, but also a tribute to the opportunities that were unavailable to my parents. My success is deeply connected to my family’s ongoing support and sacrifices.
I am honored to be a part of the Student Advisory Board and am excited to bring my passion and commitment to student success!
Allan Campbell

As a College of Business peer mentor and member of the Ecampus Student Advisory Board at Oregon State University, I aim to strengthen student connection and inclusion in online learning communities. My goal is to bring practical improvements that amplify student voices and encourage sustainable habits alongside academic success.
I am a Certified Project Manager and sustainability advocate focused on advancing recycling and organics education across the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. My work blends community-based social marketing, public engagement and visual storytelling, making complex waste systems easy for households, schools and municipal programs to understand and act on. I thrive on developing clear content, creative strategies and engaging outreach. My passion is helping others make sustainable choices through accessible resources and collaborative support.
Angel Hankins

I am double majoring in psychology and women, gender and sexuality studies. In addition, I am a member of The International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi). I am deeply ardent about creating social equity and improving both personal and communal wellbeing through an intersectional lens.
As a disabled student, I am particularly motivated to advance accessibility for OSU’s Ecampus students. I aspire to attend graduate school and conduct social science research alongside a career in advocacy. Outside of academia, I enjoy doing crafts, reading, going to concerts, playing both board and video games, listening to podcasts and endlessly showing off pictures of my fur-babies.
Duelly Baxter

I’m Duelly Baxter, a computer science major with Oregon State University. My background includes research in neuroscience and cognitive psychology as well as professional work in data analysis, where I’ve focused on making complex information accessible through visualization and storytelling.
Outside of academics, I enjoy creating projects that bring together technology and narrative, from designing tabletop role-playing content to producing video essays about games and culture. I’m passionate about bridging analytical and creative perspectives, and I look forward to contributing that approach to the Student Advisory Board while helping strengthen the OSU Ecampus community.
Kari Shippen

I transferred to Oregon State from Chemeketa Community College in 2020 and took a three-year gap year before returning to OSU Ecampus to work toward completing my degree in winter 2024. Throughout those three years, I interned at an adaptive horse therapy program and with the U.S. Forest Service, working as a seasonal park ranger and a field technician. Through these roles, I developed a passion for creating spaces where all people feel they belong and can find restoration and growth, specifically in outdoor spaces, but more broadly wherever their path takes them. I also discovered that I enjoy working on GIS-based projects, prompting me to return to OSU to complete my degree online.
Now I am a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences with a certificate in geographic information systems. I live in Silverton, Oregon, with my parents and two cats. I am excited to bring my experience as a student and in my career to the Ecampus Student Advisory Board. I look forward to continuing the work of the advisory board, working toward an academic environment that minimizes barriers and promotes a positive, impactful learning experience for all OSU Ecampus students.
Kerry Cummins

I’m Kerry Cummins, and I live in Berea, Kentucky, where my wife and I run Dellwood Farms and I work full time for Walmart. I am majoring in business administration with a recently added minor in cybersecurity management, and I bring with me a lifetime of entrepreneurial, teaching and leadership experience. From managing Walmart areas to operating a family farm, I’ve learned the value of hard work, adaptability and service to others.
Beyond academics, I’m deeply involved in my church as a Sunday school teacher and ordained minister, and I’ve spent 18 years coaching basketball, mentoring youth both on and off the court. My wife and I also fostered and adopted two of my former players, to go along with our two biological children. Family remains at the heart of everything I do. My children are all adults, and our first grandchild is due in 2026.
I am passionate about building community, encouraging others and finding ways to connect education with real-world experience. In my spare time, you’ll find me working the land, raising livestock, traveling, enjoying sporting events with my wife, spending time with my dogs or planning creative writing projects.
As a member of the Student Advisory Board, I hope to bring my diverse perspective and collaborative spirit to support OSU’s online students in reaching their goals.
Lexus Downing

I am from southern Oregon, and I am going into my sophomore year online with Oregon State Ecampus where I am working towards my bachelor's in agricultural sciences with a minor in leadership. I am also working full time for a local general contractor as well as serving as a 4-H leader in my county. I am extremely passionate about the agriculture industry and everything it has taught me, which is why I find it valuable to invest my time as a volunteer as well as further my education in the industry. As a student, employee and community volunteer, time management and organization are very important in my life.
In my free time, you can find me wake surfing, snowboarding, at the Oregon dunes or traveling abroad. I had the opportunity to study abroad as an Ecampus student through OSU GO in Costa Rica last summer, and it was an experience that taught me so many things about global agriculture. Feel free to contact me with questions regarding OSU Ecampus, the agriculture industry and the agricultural science program, or OSU GO! I look forward to serving you as a Student Advisory Board member for the 2025-26 school year.
Megan McDonald

My name is Megan McDonald, and I am a fifth-year college student pursuing my undergraduate degree in fisheries, wildlife, and conservation sciences, with a minor in anthropology. I transferred to OSU in 2022 and have loved every bit of my academic experience since. I'm based in Huntsville, Alabama, but I have lived in six states and am originally from Iowa. I am a full-time student, and I live with my parents and our rambunctious Goldendoodle named Maggie.
I am a proud neurodivergent woman in STEM, and my passion for the environment, anthropological history, and protecting this beautiful planet we are lucky to call home have driven my educational journey thus far. Likewise, my enthusiasm to connect with like-minded individuals and develop nurturing and positive communities has guided the student involvement I've taken part in since I began at OSU. I've been on four different club boards, and currently hold the role of co-president for the Ecampus Environmental Alliance Club; Ecampus liaison for the College of Agricultural Science's Club Leadership Team; and my position here on this Student Advisory Board. I am also a student member of The Explorers Club.
I hope to offer an array of creative and beneficial ideas serving on this board that will only continue to improve our already-positive experiences at OSU. Outside of school, I am a self-proclaimed nerd and artist — you can usually find me watching a movie or TV show, reading a book or chipping away at a new story or painting.
Ray La Point

My name is Ray, and I am an Ecampus senior living in Sacramento, California. My major is psychology with a minor in UX research.
When not sitting in front of my computer — taking classes, doing research or editing videos — I am often outdoors with my two children, spending time at the beach, hiking and looking for animals in the wild. I also coach my 8-year-old's soccer team. As for work, I am a dad, a chef, a tennis coach and a content creator.
Academically, as a teen and during my early 20s, I was unsuccessful with school. I barely passed my classes. I failed other courses because I was ignorant of the academic process of withdrawing and assumed that my professors would drop me when I stopped attending class. As I have matured and become a parent, I have come to understand my circadian rhythms and have found both my purpose and motivation for education. I obtained my associate degree in psychology online and enjoy being an Ecampus student at OSU. I’m passionate about researching student success and finding solutions to overcome academic barriers.
I look forward to sharing topics and finding ways to help students as a member of our student advisory board.
Suzanna Dow

Hi! I'm Suzanne Dow, a junior at OSU currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering to accompany my associate’s degree in fire technology. One day, I hope to serve on the boards of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where I can contribute to improving safety standards and emergency response policies from an engineering perspective.
Along with being a full-time Ecampus student, I also work full time as an AutoCAD specialist/administrator for a construction company, helping clients with accessibility needs remodel their homes to meet ADA standards.
In my free time, I enjoy baking, working out and going on weekend adventures with my boyfriend.
