Ecampus Student Advisory Board

My name is Alexa Marroquin-Garcia, and I am excited to join the Ecampus Student Advisory Board. As an Ecampus student, I have experienced the challenges and advantages of online learning. I am passionate about building community and collaborating with different voices to create meaningful impact. As part of enriching my time at Oregon State, I joined the SAB to contribute to the ongoing efforts to make online learning more accessible and friendly to people in all stages of life.

I am majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in psychology. As a math and science enthusiast, I find balance through my creative hobbies such as playing guitar and piano, painting and baking! I love picking up new hobbies and pushing through the challenges of being a beginner at something.

After OSU, I plan to work in bio research and pursue a master’s or Ph.D. in biochemistry research. As a Hispanic woman, pursuing a STEM education and career path is not only my calling, but also a tribute to the opportunities that were unavailable to my parents. My success is deeply connected to my family’s ongoing support and sacrifices.

I am honored to be a part of the Student Advisory Board and am excited to bring my passion and commitment to student success!

As a College of Business peer mentor and member of the Ecampus Student Advisory Board at Oregon State University, I aim to strengthen student connection and inclusion in online learning communities. My goal is to bring practical improvements that amplify student voices and encourage sustainable habits alongside academic success.

I am a Certified Project Manager and sustainability advocate focused on advancing recycling and organics education across the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. My work blends community-based social marketing, public engagement and visual storytelling, making complex waste systems easy for households, schools and municipal programs to understand and act on. I thrive on developing clear content, creative strategies and engaging outreach. My passion is helping others make sustainable choices through accessible resources and collaborative support.

My name is Blanca, and I'm a full-time environmental economics and policy student at Oregon State University’s Ecampus. My home base is New York, but I travel often and have become pretty accustomed to living out of a suitcase. Constantly meeting new people and navigating different communities has helped me become a strong connector and taught me how to build meaningful relationships wherever I go.

I'm passionate about environmental sustainability, community engagement and public service. After graduating from high school, aside from traveling, I became actively involved in environmental nonprofits and eventually served in leadership roles with two organizations. Through this work, I helped organize community events, pursue grant funding, build partnerships with local government and create opportunities for residents to get involved in environmental initiatives. I'm excited to bring my perspective to the Advisory Board and share what I've learned about building community from wherever you are.

As an Ecampus student navigating higher education, I am passionate about fostering community and advocating for the diverse needs of our student body. Joining the Student Advisory Board is a wonderful way for me to contribute to making the Oregon State online experience even more supportive, accessible and engaging for everyone.

I am completing my post-bacc degree (my second bachelor’s degree) in human development and family sciences with minors in ethnic studies and women, gender, and sexuality studies. Outside of my studies, I love spending my time reading, writing and video editing. I am always looking for creative outlets and new ways to express myself.

After earning this degree, my goal is to pursue a master's in social work to become a licensed counselor focusing on adolescents and young adults. Ultimately, I’d like to earn my Psy.D. to become a doctor of psychology.

Right now, I am actively building my credentials for graduate school by volunteering at hospitals and working with children. As a first-generation college graduate, pursuing this path is both a personal calling and a tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of my family.

I look forward to collaborating with fellow students to champion success and community at Oregon State.

My name is Desiree Bragg. I use she/her pronouns. I'm an Honors College student majoring in computer science, and I’m based in Southern California. I consider myself a nontraditional student, as I transferred into OSU as an early admit (second year) with a senior standing.

My academic interests include technology, interactive systems and user-centered design — and how they can create more engaging and meaningful experiences.

Having experienced online, hybrid and in-person learning, I’m interested in how these environments differ and how we can strengthen connection across them. I’m especially interested in how OSU Ecampus researches the online student experience and uses data to understand learning gaps, student needs and opportunities for improvement. My background in research and community-building has taught me to listen first, consider different perspectives and use feedback to shape thoughtful solutions.

As a member of the Ecampus Student Advisory Board, I hope to help create an online learning experience where students feel connected, represented and genuinely part of the OSU community.

Outside of school, I enjoy creative projects, games, attending conferences and spending time with my family and friends.

My name is Ella Wilcox, and I live in Central New York. I am an Ecampus student majoring in fisheries, wildlife, and conservation sciences. My passions for science, the environment and animals have led me toward a future in protecting our natural world and all the living things that inhabit it. After graduation, I aspire to have a career in wildlife biology or restoration ecology, where I can help restore, conserve and protect the ecosystems that surround me.

As a member of this board, I hope to improve every aspect of the OSU Ecampus experience, from enhancing the sense of community to expanding upon the opportunities available to Ecampus students. When I am not studying, I love spending quality time with my family. I also enjoy crocheting and knitting, gardening, reading, biking through my local trails and getting drawn into a new story in a movie or television show.

I’m Kerry Cummins, and I live in Berea, Kentucky, where my wife and I run Dellwood Farms and I work full time for Walmart. I am majoring in business administration with a recently added minor in cybersecurity management, and I bring with me a lifetime of entrepreneurial, teaching and leadership experience. From managing Walmart areas to operating a family farm, I’ve learned the value of hard work, adaptability and service to others.

Beyond academics, I’m deeply involved in my church as a Sunday school teacher and ordained minister, and I’ve spent 18 years coaching basketball, mentoring youth both on and off the court. My wife and I also fostered and adopted two of my former players, to go along with our two biological children. Family remains at the heart of everything I do. My children are all adults, and our first grandchild is due in 2026.

I am passionate about building community, encouraging others and finding ways to connect education with real-world experience. In my spare time, you’ll find me working the land, raising livestock, traveling, enjoying sporting events with my wife, spending time with my dogs or planning creative writing projects.

As a member of the Student Advisory Board, I hope to bring my diverse perspective and collaborative spirit to support OSU’s online students in reaching their goals.

Hi, I’m Kristi Moberg, and I currently reside in central Iowa, where I work in soybean genetics research and development. I’ve built a successful career in agricultural research since 2010. I’ve reached a point where I am ready to take my career to the next level. That led me to Oregon State University Ecampus, where I can continue building my career while pursuing my degree online.

Outside of work and academics, I enjoy spending time with my 2-year-old golden retriever, Lemon. She makes an excellent study buddy, usually napping on my lap while I read textbooks, and she’s excellent for morale!

I am thrilled to serve on the Ecampus Student Advisory Board and bring my years of professional leadership experience, along with the perspective of a working online student, to help strengthen the Ecampus experience for current and future students.

I am from southern Oregon, and I am going into my senior year at Oregon State University Ecampus, where I am working towards my bachelor's in agricultural sciences with a minor in business and leadership. I am also working full time for a local general contractor as well as serving as a 4-H leader in my county. I am extremely passionate about the agriculture industry and everything it has taught me, which is why I find it valuable to invest my time as a volunteer as well as further my education in the industry. As a student, employee and community volunteer, time management and organization are very important in my life.

In my free time, you can find me wake surfing, snowboarding, at the Oregon Dunes or traveling abroad. I had the opportunity to study abroad as an Ecampus student through OSU GO in Costa Rica, and it was an experience that taught me so many things about global agriculture.

My name is Matt, and I’m in my final year at OSU, finishing my undergraduate degree in marketing. I live in Minnesota with my wife, 3-year-old son and a handful of rescues.

Throughout high school and my twenties, I struggled to find my identity and confidence, taking several different paths through higher education along the way. Eventually, a company took a chance on me before I fully believed in myself, helping me find professional and academic success. That experience motivates me to support students with nontraditional paths like mine to help make their journeys a little bit easier.

Free time is hard to come by these days between work, school and raising a toddler, but after graduation, I hope to travel more and eventually build a home with a little more land for my family (and our rescues) to enjoy.

Hi! I'm Suzanne Dow, a junior at OSU currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering to accompany my associate’s degree in fire technology. One day, I hope to serve on the boards of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where I can contribute to improving safety standards and emergency response policies from an engineering perspective.

Along with being a full-time Ecampus student, I also work full time as an AutoCAD specialist/administrator for a construction company, helping clients with accessibility needs remodel their homes to meet ADA standards.

In my free time, I enjoy baking, working out and going on weekend adventures with my boyfriend.

Kyle Whitehouse is the associate director of student success at Ecampus. “What has always inspired me is the way possibilities start to become real when students see a path forward. For most of my career, I helped individual students work through moments of uncertainty to discover potential. Today, most of my focus is on improving systems, partnerships and opportunities across OSU that make those moments of possibility and success more accessible to every Ecampus student,” she said.

Brandon Rodríguez is an Ecampus success navigator. “Advising the Ecampus Student Advisory Board is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. The students bring diverse perspectives and experiences, and their advocacy helps shape meaningful improvements for online students across OSU. I enjoy watching them grow as leaders and seeing how their feedback leads to real change. With my background in student engagement, it is especially rewarding to work alongside such an engaged and thoughtful group of students,” he said.
