Conserving species and ecosystems

The fisheries and wildlife minor offers a broad foundation in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem function, and human influences on natural resources, as well as fish and wildlife biology. Our goal is to provide students in other majors with the knowledge needed to make wise decisions on issues of conservation, sustainable use, and ecosystem restoration.

Pursuing a minor in fisheries and wildlife online you will have the flexibility to choose from a spectrum of courses on species conservation and management, habitats and ecosystems, population dynamics, and human dimensions in natural resources. These choices make a fisheries and wildlife science minor a valuable supplement to the Ecampus online degrees such as:

  • Environmental sciences - examine the impact of the relationship between humans and their environment and provide potential solutions for responsible and sustainable management of the environment for future generations.
  • Natural resources - Exploring both the science and management of resources as well as the social, economic, and political influences will broaden your area of expertise.
  • Agricultural sciences - The Fisheries & Wildlife minor is a good fit as an area of focus for this customizable program. Create your own area of expertise for your career goals.
