Military History – Online Minor
War, peace and the human condition
Learn about the historical evolution of warfare and the role of armed conflict in shaping societies around the globe when you earn an undergraduate minor in military history online with Oregon State University.
As a student in this program, you’ll examine the critical questions and controversies surrounding military tactics and technologies, peace-making, the impact of armed conflict on civilian populations, as well as the causes, costs and consequences of war.
A program rooted in a tradition of outstanding teaching
This minor is offered by Oregon State’s well-regarded School of History, Philosophy, and Religion, which emphasizes engagement between students and instructors and has a long track record of providing students with enriching learning experiences online.
Coursework
The online courses in the military history minor will prompt you to analyze the contexts and dynamics of past and current conflicts, peace-making and post-war reconciliation. By interacting with your classmates, instructors and the course content, you’ll have the opportunity to explore and advance diverse social and cultural perspectives on the human experience of war.
