Human Development & Family Sciences – Online Minor
Make a difference in the lives of others
In the human development and family sciences minor, you will learn how people change across the life span within the contexts of families, schools and communities.
This minor complements other academic degrees such as education, public health, psychology, sociology and allied health sciences.
A minor in HDFS will enable you to:
- Explore how individuals develop and become resilient over time — particularly within the context of family, school and society.
- Discover how significant relationships with parents, partners, teachers and friends can influence the ways in which we develop over time.
- Engage in culturally responsive practices that promote human dignity and social justice.
- Appreciate the diverse ways in which individuals and families thrive and survive.
Built on 100-plus years of expertise
This minor is offered by OSU's College of Public Health and Human Sciences, which is built on a legacy of more than 100 years of ensuring the health and well-being for people in the U.S. and beyond. The college has a track record of creating professionals who serve our society in careers such as youth counseling, social work, and marriage and family counseling.
